Computer speed check tools are used for checking the clock speed of the CPU in your computer. You can download either the shareware or the freeware versions of the software and check various parameters concerning the speed of your computer system. You could also use one of several web-based computer speed check tools available on the Internet. There are two kinds of speed checks which are usually done on PCs; one which checks the CPU and other related speed elements in your computer, and the second one is the bandwidth speed of your ISP as related to your computer.
Computer speed check tools measure the actual performance speed of the CPU in your computer. Typical computer speed check software would indicate various aspects of your CPU speed parameters, such as, whether the CPU in your PC is over-clocked with your CPU clock speed running at a higher rate than specified. It would also indicate if the CPU is running faster than what it is rated, and whether the CPU is operating in its usual normal range.
Normally, the rated CPU speed is available on any Pentium 4 or later CPUs. The CPU of your PC should be running at this speed or below the rated speed specified by the manufacturer. Computer speed check software provides detailed description of your Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 caches as supported by your CPU. Having larger cache sizes would mean a faster computer system. The memory speed is defined by how fast your CPU can access data in the memory. This indication is usually provided in megabytes per second. The software times this speed by executing large memory to memory transfer. Larger transfer rates would mean a faster PC.
The speed of your PC does not depend on the clock speed of the CPU in your computer. Computer speed check tools are used for measuring other speed related critical factors which go on to determine the overall speed of your system. They are also used for determining the speed of your network and your Internet access speed. Advanced computer speed check software provides you with a control panel and a separate graphical window in which the speed related parameters of your PC are displayed. The control panel lets you to change the parameter settings to view different test results under different conditions.
By making changes in the BIOS settings, the clock speed of the CPU in your PC can be adjusted. If you find the speed of your computer system is falling, there could be various reasons for its lowered performance. One could be that the CPU in your PC is not operating to its specified speed, or there could be something wrong with your data transfer rates. Computer speed check utilities may be used to find out various speed elements in your computer. The analysis done by the software can help you determine which speed component is affecting the performance of your computer.
The BIOS found in the present computer system can automatically detect the type of CPU being used in your computer. The CPU clock rate is also set by your BIOS through a multiplier factor. The speed related functioning of your PC depends upon the clock speed of the CPU in your PC and the data transfer rate between the CPU and memory. The “bus” system is responsible for transporting data, and the rate of transfer determines the overall speed of your computer. If the data transport rate is low, your PC will have a slower operating speed. Computer speed check tools, available on the Internet, have various features from just a basic utility to check CPU speed to providing extensive details relating to the other parameters in your computer which affects speed.
Appropriate changes in your BIOS settings can be made to set the multiplier factor in your PC which in turn reflects on the clock speed of the CPU. For example, a computer having a processor speed of 550 MHz, with a front side bus speed of 100 MHz, has its multiplier factor set at 5.5 for the CPU to work at 550 MHz. Before you make any adjustments to the CPU speed in your computer you should find out the various speed parameters which are governing overall performance of your computer. Computer speed check software has the feature to provide you with the entire information which you may utilize to diagnose the parameter affecting the performance of your PC.

By trade I’m a web developer and my wife is a graphic designer. Together we began selling our photographs through the internet over two years ago as a way to earn a little extra cash from something we enjoyed doing. At the time we only had a little 4 megapixel point-n-shoot camera but my wife knew about editing photos from studying Design in college. At the time we thought we knew about photography as well, however we now know what we didn’t know then.
When we began selling our photos online we only earned $16 in our first month. Given that this was something we were passionate about we persisted and, with lots of research we raised the amount to $270 in six months. Since it was only a part time hobby we honestly didn’t expect it to earn so much money as soon as it did, but […] Continue Reading…

As consumers we’ve become used to the way retail chain stores keep track of the type and number of products they have on hand at any time. They do it with barcodes and inventory control software running on a computer somewhere deep in the administration area of the business.
In smaller firms, however, this kind of advanced merchandise management often does not exist for one reason or other. It might be due to a lack of sufficient products to warrant this kind of system. However, it could also be that the proprietors do not know about the new technological developments in inventory control programs and systems that have occurred recently.
A major concern for any enterprise is the extent to which the costs involved in acquiring such a system and implementing it will yield a suitable return on investment. Will the costs be manageable and reasonable? What about maintenance? […] Continue Reading…

Buying a new digital camera can be a very overwhelming endeavor. Technology is in a constant state of change and there seems to be new camera announcements every month! There is a way to ensure that you purchase the right camera for your needs however. Understand the technology. Not all of it of course, but just enough to make the right decisions. This article will cover the features of digital cameras that are most important for you to understand.
To begin with me will discuss the similarities between film and digital cameras. Basically a camera is a light airtight box that allows exposure of a light-sensitive material through the use of a shutter and an aperture. This process is the same with either a digital or film camera.
Lenses focus the image and control how the photo will look (wide or telephoto); […] Continue Reading…

The Dust and Scratches Filter is located on the Menu Bar and click on the Filter Tab. A drop down will list elements and then he can choose the Noise tab and select on the Dust and Scratches.
After selecting the Dust and Scratches menu, a dialog box will pop up with two control sliders. The first slider is for options regarding Radius and the second one is for options regarding Threshold. There may also be another window if the preview box […] Continue Reading…
